Finally, I took the plunge and started a YouTube channel!

Why did I procrastinate for years? Well, besides the fact that I had NO CLUE what I would talk about, and, assuming that YouTube was just way too saturated for me to even make a dent in the YouTube world…I really struggled with addiction and self-image. So much, that my addict brain was just like “uh-un, no way no how am I going to or able to do this”. (Don’t we just love how much our brains go right to negativity and self-sabotage as a way to ‘protect’ ourselves?)

Welp, now that I’ve been in recovery and my mind is clear, I finally have the confidence to say, “I don’t give a bleep what anyone thinks of me, and I’m going to go for it!” YA!

And like Gabrielle “Coco” Channel would say, “I don’t care what you think about me, I don’t think about you at all” amongst many other badass things Miss Coco would say.

So, with the realization of what my true calling is, and after ten years of struggle on and off with painkiller addiction from Lortab all the way to Fentanyl, I finally did it!

Of course, with putting oneself in a vulnerable position online, comes with the territory of being poked and made fun of for being an addict in recovery. But, I decided that it is much better to recover OUT LOUD than it is to be quiet about it. Screw being quiet. What help does that bring anyone? So, bring on all the hyenas. What fear do I have when Simba and our proud of lions are on my side?

I don’t care what you think about me, I don’t think about you at all.

You know what, friend? This is something YOU, yes YOU, can do too! If there’s anything I’ve learned about building a social media following, it’s talent is cheap, consistency is king. Any of us can beat talent as long as we have consistency. This applies to our recovery journey too!

A lot of us were saved from drugs “by the grace of God”, but, what’s a once in a lifetime chance, without consistency? We would be right back to the hellhole we were without it.

So, friend, I dare you, to start your own YouTube channel too! I’d LOVE to support you and do recovery together. Let’s see how far we can take this, how many people we can help live and thrive in this beautiful life.

Here’s my first YouTube video below. I’d love to follow/like and support each other! Love you, friend!
